When I lived in the UK I gave blood on a regular basis. I have "special blood" which is good for babies. (I have forgotten the correct terminiolgy but something to do with some antibodies that occurr naturally in my blood)
However due to my living in the UK I can't give blood here in Canada.
Otherwise I would be hooked up once a month!

and i think that most of the jw's i ever worked on the fs with, none of them had good or interesting presentations.

The last time I heard a JW sales pitch was at memorial last year. The elder was taking about some planned talk about how the bible is something or another.
The inital words caught my attention however in 5 seconds he blew it when he said this was a free talk and all are welcome.
Then he just sounded like car salesman or those timeshare guys.
When I hear the word free used in that way, I instantly wonder what the catch is!

Apparently I've out-ed an old friend THE SH**T HIT THE FAN!!
by Terry inabout three or four years ago my former "best friend" who is an active jw started coming by my work to eat lunch with me and chat.. in the course of our conversations we had religious discussions.. i posted on the former jwd about these discussions.
i never mentioned his last name, but, i did use his first name.. i honestly never expected anybody to read those posts because of the curse on apostate websites.
but, that was a bit naive, i suppose.. here is what has happened.. .

I also think my "friend" can be a BIG FISH in a small pond at the Kingdom Hall.
He has spent his life impressing people of lesser intellect and he likes the feeling of superiority.
His modus operandi is irrepressible intimidation.
He knows more than the average guy and when confronted by a pipsqueek elder he'll demonstrate it.
If you know a fact he know the fact behind the fact. That sort of thing.
I have a aquaintance like that. The problem is he knows the facts and facts behind the facts but doesn't understand any of them them. He thinks he is clever and to others, appears to look clever, but he's not, he just dangerous to those around him. I could trip him up every time he opens his mouth, but there no point, he will hang himself and has done on numerous times.
He has done the leading allright. None of his 5 kids has avoided disfellowshipping.
His sisters do not admire his personality or methodology since he tends to moralize and run roughshod over problems.
Terry, I know you are angry but it time to stop. If you are truely trying to alienate yourself from his entire family keep going but I don't think that is the case. How do you think his sisters will feel if they knew you were talking about them on here?
Let go of the anger and walk away. Its hard but you can do it.

I would chalk this up as one of those "not to be repeated in a hurry episodes"!
The most important thing is that you learn from the experience and apply them in how you deal with issues in the future.
